Carmen Gilmore is an environmentalist and essayist based on Treaty 6 territory, Canada. She is interested in our connections to place and the memories and stories that lie just beneath the surface.Her essays, critiques and reviews have appeared in the Land of Living Skies, The Field Stone Review, NiCHE, The Metropole, Quill & Quire, and the Blue Jay Journal, amongst others.She has received awards for both heritage and environmental education. In 2025, she presented at the National Trust on the connection between place and story.
